Semantelli has launched a healthcare focused big data collection solution, which is built with Apache Hadoop and other standard big data stacks.
BIGHEALTHr solution, which comes with built-in ontologies, can be configured to collect big data from social media, videos, scholar publications, clinical trials, FDA, Wikipedia, mobile apps, product reviews, news media and other online and offline sources.
In addition, the solution comes with widgets that help in collecting big data via social media based surveys, product reviews and adverse events reports.
Semantelli CEO Siva Nadarajah said the company has seen some innovative uses of its big data widgets by some of its over the counter (OTC) clients in 2012.
"Based on our experience with our OTC clients, we see tremendous opportunities in Pharma," Nadarajah added.
"We think we are going to see some real applications for big data in the next two years in life sciences."
