Japanese carmaker Nissan is planning to launch its Next-gen Qashqai crossover in 2014, after its preview as a concept car at the Geneva show in Switzerland next year.
Nissan said that the new crossover will be equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine replacing the earlier 1.6-litre engine.
The new engine will deliver an output of 113hp and 190Nm of torque, while also offers 50mpg and generates about 120g/km of CO2.
According to the autoexpress.co.uk, the new crossover will also be offered in a diesel variant powered by a new 1.6 dCi diesel powertrain, which will deliver a 128bhp output and is expected to offer 60mpg and about 105g/km of CO2 emissions.
The crossover, based on Nissan's Hi-Cross concept car unveiled in Geneva this year, is expected to go on sale in 2014.
