Packaging solutions provider Roberts PolyPro will unveil its two pack high-density polyethylene (HDPE) handles for gallon jugs at Pack Expo 2013 to be held from 23-25 September 2013 in Las Vegas.
The new handles are said to offer 26% reduction in cost, 28% reduction in material sourced, and 22% pallet utilization to cut down transportation costs.
Roberts PolyPro sales director Chris Turner said the company recorded 86% improvement in performance of new pack handles in packaging lab drop tests.
"Roberts PolyPro customers benefit by acquiring a more sustainable handle at less cost and consumers receive a convenient handle that performs better for carrying two gallons of product," Turner said.
The company's extruded handles and multi-pack carriers require on average 5 to 35% less resin as against its injection molded products.
Roberts PolyPro manufactures its products using extruded HDPE resin and, when used with either PET or HDPE bottles, the entire package including bottles and handle is 100% recyclable.
Prior to the shipment, the company adjusts multipack handles while in the case of single bottle handles it uses a patented process of welding the handles together.
This process benefits to the company by allowing 40% more handles per pallet than loose handles shipped in bulk.
