China's February alumina imports rose 31.4% year on year to 460,000 mt, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs late Monday.
However, the February imports fell 28.1% from January.
Over January-February, alumina imports totaled 1.11 million mt, up 21.8% year on year.
China imported 95,257 mt of unwrought aluminum, alloys and products in February, up from 45,478 mt in February 2013 and 109,851 mt in January.
For the first two months, China imported 205,108 mt of unwrought aluminum, alloy and products, up 78.8% year on year.
China imported 170,000 mt of aluminum scraps in February, up 6.3% year on year but down 15% month on month.
Over January-February, aluminum scrap imports stood at 370,000 mt, down 1.2% year on year.
