UK's motor insurance distributors Kwik-Fit Insurance has introduced a new insurance product for learner drivers, aimed to reduce the cost of cover while driving on a provisional license.
Designed especially for drivers still sporting 'L' plates, the new Kwik-Fit Insurance Learners product decreases cost for full license holders who earlier used to pay an additional premium to add them to their own policies.
Kwik-Fit Insurance managing director June Lynch said the policy has been designed to suit the short-term insurance requirements of learner drivers and runs alongside the main driver's policy without any risk to their no claims discount.
In partnership with specialist insurer Provisional Marmalade, the new policy covers cars from insurance group 1 to 32 including executive models from Mercedes and BMW, as well as sports cars like the Audi TT - with a market value of up to £20,000.
"We hope we can make the process of learning to drive slightly more convenient and encourage learner drivers as they gain the knowledge that will allow them to be safe and competent on the road," June Lynch added.
Without impacting car owner's premium, the cover will enable learners to attain enough experience easily to pass their test by providing a separate insurance policy.
