China produced 26GWp of PV modules in 2013, growing 13% on year. China was the largest producing country for the seventh consecutive year, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
Of the output, 16GWp or 61.5% was exported, and Europe was the largest market accounting for 30%, followed by Japan 22%, the US 10%, India 5.2% and South Africa 4.5%, the sources indicated.
China produced 80,000 tons of polysilicon in 2013, increasing 12.7% on year and making it the largest producing country for the third year straight, the sources added. The US was the second-largest with 55,000 tons, followed by South Korea with 48,000 tons, Germany 43,000 tons and Japan 14,000 tons.
