LG has released a new television that will enable families in India to catch up on their favourite shows without being hassled by mosquitoes.
The "mosquito away" technology sends sound waves out into the room that will ensure the unpleasant buzz and bites of the disease-spreading parasitic so-and-sos don’t interrupt the viewing.
“The ultrasonic sound waves effectively drives away the mosquitoes keeping your loved ones absolutely safe at home,” the company said (via The Verge)
“Since no harmful chemicals are used, it is also odour-free and not hazardous to health like the conventional methods used for keeping mosquito away.
The range starts at $400/£280 for a 32-inch, 1080p set.
This isn’t the first time LG has built the tech into appliances, it’s also in washing machines and air conditioners.
As an Englishman living in Florida whose ankles are regularly a playground for these Zika-carrying devils, I might just put in a call to LG India.
