Shanghai GM, a joint venture between General Motors and SAIC, will issue a recall of about 77,579 Buick GL8 minivans in China due to a problem in seat belt.
The GL8s are recalled due to a problem in the front passenger seat's seatbelt which when not fastened or fastened improperly would lead to the damage of the seatbelt's pretensioner caused by pressure from the seat cushion, making it unusable in the future.
The recall is to be issued for the GL8 minivans manufactured during November 2010 and November 2012.
The company is to issue the recall by December 2012 for check up, maintenance and correction of the problem.
The Buick GL8 is a minivan sold in China and reported a sale of about 5,617 GL8s in November 2012.
