Finnish paper and pulp company Mets Board has announced plans to invest EUR1.3m in the development of Chromolux at its Gohrsmühle mill in Germany, to address the increased customer demand for cast-coated papers and boards in reels in particular.
According to the company, the business restructuring at the Gohrsmühle mill site as whole is proceeding as planned.
Mets Board is focusing on the development of Chromolux, after discontinuing the unprofitable paper business in Gohrsmühle and is also developing new folding boxboard sheeting operations at the site.
The Chromolux paper and board range is designed for wet-glue labeling, face-stock for self-adhesive labeling, packaging and graphical uses, the company said.
