ECOtality, a developer of electric transportation and storage technologies, has entered into partnership with Regency Centers to install Blink electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at 19 of its across US.
As per the deal, ECOtality will install 40 Blink EV charging stations at 19 sites in the US states of Arizona, California, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas and DC.
ECOtality VP of corporate development Colin Read said that the company's goal has been to deploy a network of chargers that are conveniently placed where consumers work, shop and play - and aligning ourselves with major property owners is a key part of achieving that goal.
The company said that the charging stations will offer EV drivers the freedom to travel as they choose and charge at Blink commercial locations along the way.
Regency Centers senior vice president of national property operations Scott Prigge said the EV stations provide an added shopper convenience, demonstrate and encourage a commitment to the environment, and generate a potential future revenue stream.
