OKI Malaysia has introduced new printers based on digital LED print technology to strengthen its A4 mono workgroup offerings targeted at medium to large enterprises.
The new models are the B721dn and B731dn, both of which are monochrome, and the ES7400, which is a color multi-function model. The B721dn prints at the speed of up to 47ppm (pages per minute) for A4 pages and the B731dn at up to 52ppm. The first page takes less than five seconds to print for both printers. The two printers support 18,000-page and 25,000-page toner cartridges but only the B731dn can also handle a 36,000-page toner cartridge.
Each printer has a paper tray for holding up to 630 sheets, an Ethernet port and automatic duplex printing feature. They print at the resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi (dots per inch). Features that will appeal to businesses include encryption for print jobs, secure erase and print job accounting.
Meanwhile, with the ES7400 MFP users will be able to print, scan, copy and fax. It prints at up to 40ppm in color or black and white, at a resolution of up to 1,200 x 600 dpi. The machine features advanced security measures such as IP filtering and secure print to protect corporate data from unauthorized eyes.
It also supports the open application programming interface platform sXP (smart Extendable Platform), which will allow customers and solution partners to create custom solutions such as document management workflow. The B721dn and B731dn will retail for RMB3650 and RMB4399, respectively, when they hit store shelves next month.
The ES7400 MFP will only be made available to corporate users via a "pay per print" model under Oki's Managed Print Service program. Customers must pay RM200 monthly for a five-year contract.
