PSS World Medical, a distributor of medical products and services, has obtained certification from Surescripts for its eDispense solution for prescription routing.
eDispense software, which is part of the company's office pharmaceutical dispensing solution, can now receive electronic prescriptions through the Surescripts network.
PSS Dispensing vice president and general manager Scott Helfrich said the company is committed to improve patient care by enhancing the value of its point-of-care treatment solutions.
"Connectivity to the Surescripts network increases efficiency and convenience in the dispensing process and ultimately helps to improve patient medication adherence," Helfrich added.
"The streamlined workflow is integrated into the electronic e-prescription writing process within the caregiver's electronic health records (EHR) so that when they create an electronic prescription, the patient can easily choose to have it filled through the in-office dispensing system via the Surescripts network."
