The UK Flavour Association has been unveiled at a launch event in London.
The association, previously known as the British Essence Manufacturers Association (BEMA), represents the interests of the UK and international flavor companies and flavor ingredient suppliers.
The association permits its members to raise and resolve issues, and will also represent their interests in the UK and globally.
The UK Flavour Association executive committee chairman Jane Route said that the organization's members have to address challenging regulatory, technical and nutrition demands such as sodium reduction and the increased demand for natural flavorings.
All members of the association conform to EFFA and IOFI Codes of Practice, ensuring the safe manufacture and use of their flavors in the UK and other countries.
