Viroclinics Biosciences' Laboratory Has Received ISO 15187:2007 Certification

Contract research and clinical diagnostic service institution Viroclinics Biosciences has announced that its laboratory has received ISO 15187:2007 certification, from the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA).

During an annual inspection, RvA found that the management system and the assays performed by the Viroclinics laboratory, completely satisfies the quality requirements.

The regulatory agency said that the surveillance of Viroclinics has been conducted in an open, pleasant and constructive atmosphere and the lab features facilities, including laboratory equipment, and qualified staff members to perform its tasks.

It was also found that the documentation system clearly explains the management system and standard operating procedures. The certification also includes an ELISA-based method that detects viral nucleoprotein (NP) in virus titration culture plates.

Viroclinics Biosciences assay development director Carel Baalen said, "This validated method facilitates detection and quantification of currently circulating influenza viruses that test negative in standard hemagglutination assays."
