Toy Box Decides to Close Its Doors After 20 Years

Blow for Crowthorne as Only Toy Shop Closes

Toy Box decides to close its doors after 20 years.

Reduced footfall due to online shopping and consumers tightening their purse strings, has led to the owners of the only toy shop in Crowthorne deciding to close down.

Toy Box - which has been trading for 20 years - will close at the end of June.

Owners Linda Cotton and Hilary Corio (pictured) told The Wokingham Times that the indie is no longer making enough money to survive.

"We have come to the end of our lease and things have not been going well, so we thought it was time to close," said Corio. "We have had a very happy partnership and hope people will support us up until the end."
