Austria-based chemical and plastics solutions provider Borealis is set to launch two new peelable compounds, Borpeel WD955CF and Steripeel WE950CF, for transparent lidding film and peel against itself applications.
According to Borealis, the compounds, which provide good optics, transparency and a broad processing window complete the company's performance portfolio of peelable solutions for lidding film on PP trays and peel against itself for standard peelable film, sterilizable applications, medical applications and anti-fogging films.
Borealis Business Unit Film & Fibre vice president Thierry Chevrier said it was a challenge to combine transparency, sterilizability and easy-opening performance in one single product.
"By means of our new Steripeel grade, we have successfully achieved this unique combination, in order to address the increasing market demand for convenience packaging," Chevrier added.
The company will also introduce its new BorPure molding solutions for organoleptic performance and processability for transparent consumer food packaging and PE caps, and the Bormed polyolefins, which address the needs of primary pharmaceutical and diagnostic packaging.
