Woolworths Is Recalling Its Almond Kernels Due to Possible Salmonella Contamination

Australian supermarket chain Woolworths is recalling its Almond Kernels due to possible Salmonella contamination, according to Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).

The product being recalled features Green and clear packaging with Woolworths logo, bears best before date code of 05 February 2013, 06 April 2013, 07 April 2013, 12 April 2013.

This product was manufactured in Australia and was sold from Woolworths Supermarkets, Safeway, Food for Less, and Flemings Supermarkets in 750g packs.

Woolworths advised consumers not to consume these products and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. There have been no reported reactions associated with the recalled product.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled. Consumption of food contaminated with this bacterium may cause foodborne illness.
