Lexus, a luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Toyota, has unveiled the newly designed 2013 ES 350 and its hybrid variant ES 300h models.
The ES 300h is offered with the Lexus Hybrid Drive, featuring a 2.5litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle engine as well as an integrated hybrid electric motor/generator which generates a total output of 200hp.
ES 300h is also equipped with a power management system and high compression ratio to enhance overall efficiency.
According to Lexus, the hybrid will deliver EPA fuel economy ratings of nearly 40 mpg city, 39 mpg highway and a combined efficiency of 39 mpg.
The ES 350 sedan is powered by a 3.5litre Dual VVT-i V6 engine mated to a six-speed sequential-shift automatic electronically controlled transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), which generates an output of 268 hp at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 248lb-ft.
Lexus said that ES 350 will deliver 21 mpg city, 31 mpg highway and a combined fuel efficiency of 24 mpg.
Both the models will feature safety features including enhanced roadside assistance, an emergency assistance button (SOS), stolen vehicle location services, and automatic collision notification.
