Eco-friendly vehicles distributor Green Automotive Company has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the bus and limo manufacturing company Newport Coachworks (NCI)
Following the acquisition, Newport Coachworks will build clean diesel and CNG busses at its new facility in California, which has an annual production capacity of about 500 busses, delivering a revenue of $37m.
NCI president Carter Read, who comes with over 29 years of experience in bus and limo manufacturing, will run the new business established in California.
Newport Coachworks president Carter Read said the new facility will build busses not just for North America but also for export adds a new dimension to the company business.
"With a range of products from 19-seater shuttles through Limo busses to 52 seaters, we cover every sector of the bus industry with the highest quality products," Read said.
