More Than 100 Local and Foreign Exhibitors Took Part in Vietnam Textile Expo

More than 100 local and foreign exhibitors took part in the recently concluded international textile and garment industry expo held at the ICE International Center for Exhibition, Hanoi, Vietnam.

The expo, held concurrently with the Vietnam Fabric and Garment Accessories expo, was jointly organized by Vietnam National Textile Garment Group (Vinatex), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and the Vietnam Exhibition, Conference, and Advertisement Joint Stock Company.

The expo aimed to provide a one stop market for all buyers in Vietnam and the neighbouring countries in Asia. It was focussed on the machineries, spare parts, and technologies for the garment industry.

Due to an increasing demand for textile dyes, an entirely new area was opened at this year’s expo to introduce relevant techniques and products.

According to Tran Tuan Anh, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Vietnam’s textile and garment industry, involving 6,000 businesses, is estimated to achieve an export turnover of US$ 25.4 billion in 2014, a 19 percent year-on-year increase.

Vietnamese clothing and textile enterprises are expecting the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations to conclude on a positive note, as it would allow them to export at zero-duty to the US. (GK)
