APVMA Has Issued a Permit to The Use of Various Herbicides for The Control

Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has issued a permit to Cotton Australia for the use of various herbicides for the control of weeds in pigeon pea Bollgard II cotton refuges and trap crops from October 12, 2012 to September 30, 2017.

Last season (2011-12) there were 21,117 hectares of pigeon pea refuge/trap crop enabling approximately 420,000ha of Bollgard II cotton.

The permit conditions apply only to pigeon pea crops that are to be slashed at the end of the season or to be harvested for seed for replanting No Crop Product Or Crop Residue Can Be Fed To Livestock.
