Malaysian Govt to Increase The 1Malaysia People's Textile Store Outlet Count to 50

The Government of Malaysia is going to increase the 1Malaysia People’s Textile Store (Kedai Kain Rakyat 1 Malaysia or KKR1M) outlet count to 50 next year, Bernama reported quoting KKR1M managing director Mohd Noor Mohd Amin.

Mr. Amin said the high demand for fabrics sold at KKR1m has led to an increase in the number of stores. He informed that the 19th KKR1M outlet was recently opened in Kuala Pilah.

More KKR1M stores are likely to be opened in Grik, Perak and Dungun in Terengganu and several other areas.

He said there were plans to increase the total number of KKR1M stores in the country to 50 next year. The focus would be more on Sabah and Sarawak regions.

He also informed that they are planning to introduce a new product, the 1Malaysia Batil, for sale in KKR1M.

KKR1M store concept was unveiled last year, as an initiative under the Cost of Living – National Key Result Area (NKRA) aimed at helping the people to reduce their cost of living in the wake of soaring living expenses.

The KKR1M stores offer a wide range of high quality apparels and textiles at prices below the market prices, as the prices of all commodities are reviewed by the Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry
