Campaign hopes to raise $35,000 to make 'Woody' widely and economically available to all'
The makers of My Wooden Horse, a traditional wooden push along toy, have taken to Kickstarter in the hope of bringing it to shelves.
The product, named Woody, is a handmade wooden toy designed to be passed through generations.
The project, by Shalgi Design Studio, is hoping to raise $35,000 by February 23rd to move the operation to an industrial-scale production level 'so Woody can be more widely and economically available to all'.
"We believe this is important because My Wooden Horse is more than just a toy; it is a way of life," said a statement on the Kickstarter page.
"Each horse represents an idea, an emotion. Since My Wooden Horse lasts a lifetime, so too will the memories.
"My Wooden Horse represents the simple, small things in life that sometimes get overshadowed by the shiny, new, tech-related products out there, but just as quickly as the newest phone model hits the markets, so too do those tech toys lose their allure.
"My Wooden Horse stores more memory and nostalgia than even the biggest of hard drives. We know everyone will agree."
The project has raised $8,980 at the time of writing and those who donate $50 to the My Wooden Horse campaign will recieve one of the first 500 Horses.
