A provider of chemical and plastics solutions Borealis, and Nexeo Solutions, a plastics distribution company, announced that they have inked a distribution agreement to offer Bormed products, specially dedicated to healthcare applications in North America.
Relationship between Nexeo and Borealis began after Nexeo acquired Ashland.
Prior to that, Ashland had been distributing polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) produced by Borealis in Europe for over last 15 years.
In the new distribution agreement, new products such as Borealis' Borstar PP and PE solutions have been included.
Nexeo Solutions currently distributes over 500 Borealis products to over 3,000 customers throughout Europe, which cater mainly to the advanced packaging market.
Borealis Polyolefins executive vice president Alfred Stern said the company wishes to extend its distribution partnership with Nexeo in North America, following their fruitful collaboration in Europe.
"By leveraging their extensive local knowledge of the healthcare customer requirements, we will be able to increase the presence of our Bormed products in the healthcare segment," said Stern.
