It’s reported that Evraz has added a new re-rolling mill, Evraz Caspian Stal in north Kazakhstan's Kostanay region.
The mill's capacity is set to be 450,000 tons of bars. Evraz holds 65% shares while the balance 35% is owned by Kazakh firm Caspian Group.
The mill will process billet from Evraz’s ZapSib steelworks in Russia’s Kemerovo region, western Siberia.
Up to three-four months test trial run will be started after Jan 10 when equipment supplier's engineers coming back from holidays.
Evraz Caspian Stal represents a US$131 million investment and can produce 10mm-40mm diameter rebar.
