Apple has leaked official images of the new MacBook Pro and the fabled contextual OLED touchbar, just two days before the expected reveal.
A MacRumors reader found the pictures hiding in plain sight within the Apple Pay section of the new macOS Sierra 10.12.1 update released yesterday.
The pictures show a user authenticating an Apple Pay purchase using a Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the top right corner of the touchbar.
In the process, the company has confirmed its biometric security tech will be present in a Mac for the time.
Strangely, there's also no sign of an escape key on the keyboard.
The photos of what appears to be a 13-inch MacBook Pro also show to be speaker grilles either side of the new keyboard (below).
This isn’t the first dead giveaway offered by the macOS Sierra update either. Earlier on Tuesday assets within the System Preferences app hinted at the keyboard change.
Apple will officially reveal the new MacBook during a specially-convened event on Thursday and there's still plenty to look forward to.
Now the touchbar has been confirmed we’re looking forward to seeing how it works with other applications in the macOS ecosystem. We'll have full coverage on Thursday.
