According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in June this year decreased 0.4 percent compared to May, after a month-on-month decrease of 0.9 percent recorded in May. In the second quarter of the current year, output decreased in the domestic manufacturing sector by 0.3 percent compared to the second quarter of 2012, while a 1.5 percent increase was seen on quarter-on-quarter basis.
In June, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 0.7 percent, following a similar month-on-month decrease in May, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by 5.7 percent, after a 3.1 percent rise recorded in the previous month, while the output of the construction industry remained flat in June, following the 0.8 percent fall in May, all compared to the previous month.
In the second quarter of the current year, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.7 percent, while production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 9.2 percent, both compared to the first quarter. In the second quarter, the output of the construction industry in France rose 1.2 percent quarter on quarter.
