The interactive book offers kids aged five to eight the chance to improve their vocabulary, play memory games and more.

Leapfrog has added Disney’s Planes 2: Fire and Rescue to its popular LeapReader Read on Your Own series.

The interactive book offers kids aged five to eight the chance to improve their vocabulary, play memory games and more.

Designed to encourage children to read on their own, the book aims to engage with interactive features such as patrolling the park to help explore and build advanced vocabulary with words like ‘hover’ and ‘parachute’.

Readers can also put their mathematical skills to the test with number recognition, number matching and addition and subtraction to stop wildfires spreading across the park.

Furthermore, the game aims to test geometry skills by exploring the concepts of gravity in order to save planes in distress in the midst of an air show.

The new addition to the LeapReader series sits alongside other Disney titles, including Doc McStuffins and Monsters University and coincides with the launch of the Disney movie.

Sally Plumridge, international marketing director at LeapFrog, said: “Disney's Planes 2: Fire and Rescue is an exciting addition to the LeapReader range, expanding upon LeapFrog’s existing partnership with Disney.

"We are thrilled to be launching this new title alongside the hotly aniticipated second film, which is sure to be a hit with children and parents alike this summer.”

Disney’s Planes 2: Fire and Rescue interactive storybook is compatible with LeapReader and Tag with a retail price of £12.99.
