JTEKT, a Japanese manufacturer of steering systems, driveline components, bearings and machine tools, is planning to invest $102m to construct a new facility in South Carolina, US.
The company said that the new facility will expand its driveline component capacity and flexibility in South Carolina.
JTEKT Automotive South Carolina president Katsuhiko Ishikawa said, "The South Carolina facility will give us the opportunity to expand our product line and reach new customers as well as grow our overall production capacity and operations.
It is also expected to generate around 80 new jobs over the next two years.
Last year, South Carolina engaged about $4.7bn in investment and created 13,000 new jobs in the manufacturing sector.
