The Vidarbha region of Maharashtra state would be projected as a future textile and garment hub of India at the 12th International & 70th All India Textile Conference, to be held on 17-18 January 2015, at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Auditorium, Civil Lines, Nagpur.
The conference will be held under the theme ‘Cotton, Textile & Apparel Value & Supply Chain: Global Opportunities & Challenges’.
“This conference theme can foresee a desired development at every stage from fibre to fashion and translate the thought process into action to achieve value added growth,” says Hemant Sonare, conference chairman and honorary secretary of the Vidarbha unit of the Textile Association (India).
“This conference will boost confidence of existing and budding entrepreneurs to act as change agents and develop integrated framework to make Vidarbha as a future textile and garment hub of the country,” adds Sonare.
The conference aims to attract investments in Vidarbha from industry leaders from all over the globe. It also aims to boost confidence of local entrepreneurs who are keen on ensuring an integrated and holistic development of Vidarbha.
Additionally, it also aims to empower technocrats, professionals, and existing and emerging entrepreneurs with rich content about new trends, development opportunities and growth areas.
More than 900 delegates comprising senior members, decision makers, and reputed textile professionals representing the entire textile value chain are likely to participate in the two-day conference.
Established in 1939, the Textile Association of India (TAI) is the largest textile professional body in India, consisting of 23,000 members with 26 affiliated units spread across the country.
The Vidarbha unit (TAI Vidarbha) has grown both in size and strength since its inception in 1949. The unit had earlier organised two national conferences in 1979 and 2006, which were highly appreciated by textile technologists and industrialists from all across India. (RKS)
