Husky Injection Molding Systems has introduced a latest generation of its HyCAP beverage closure molding machine for improved productivity.
The fully integrated HyCAP4 high output system is designed to produce the high quality, light weight closures.
The machine features built-in intelligence, making it easier to use. It also features simplified controls for faster process set-up and improved repeatability.
Husky Global Beverage Packaging president Gerardo Chiaia said: “Husky is committed to reducing our customers’ total cost to produce.
“We do this by focusing our development effort on meaningful innovations that deliver on what the processor needs most.
“More productivity, increased ease-of-use, reduced energy consumption – these are all achieved by specifically designing the mold, machine, hot runner, auxiliary equipment and software to work in harmony – while adding more automation to make the system fully integrated and intelligent.”
To optimize productivity and efficiency, Husky has made adjustments such as electrification of the clamp motion, servo-variable pumping technology and a regenerative clamp stroke to the system to allow it to produce high-quality, lightweight closures.
The firm expects the new enhancements to deliver up to 40% improvement in energy consumption when compared with the previous generation, while maintaining performance.
Additionally, the system’s new part eject assist feature allows consistent freefall of closures at the fastest cycles while the sensor-driven mold alignment will reduce mold wear.
Husky is planning to demonstrate the HyCAP4 system at the K 2016 event, which is scheduled to be held from 19 to 26 October in Düsseldorf, Germany.
