Trade fair organiser Messe Frankfurt is launching Avantex, a trade fair dedicated to high-tech fabrics for fashion which will run from September 14 to 17, 2015 at Paris Le Bourget in France.
“Avantex will highlight intelligent, connected fabrics, materials which combine nanotechnology and cosmetics, and surprising finishes and coatings,” a press release from Messe Frankfurt said.
“I wanted to bring Avantex’s vision of uniting high-tech companies with fashion product designers to Paris, the capital of fashion,” Michael Scherpe, CEO of Messe Frankfurt France said.
“Companies attending Avantex must exhibit fabrics which have at least three innovative functions and or hold unpublished patents,” Messe Frankfurt added.
According to the organiser, Avantex will present the best of the high-tech textile industry, with almost thirty exhibitors from Europe and Asia.
Switzerland will be represented by Forster Rohner Textile Innovations, the technical section of the Swiss embroidery maker Forster Willi.
The Taiwan Textile Federation will present around fifteen companies, including Camangi, from the Umorfil group, and its cosmetic solutions, and Everest, a sports specialist which wants to expand into fashion.
Austria will be present through the Lenzing Group, with a specific space; the Lenzing Innovation, while China will be represented by two companies, Ruisheng Textile (Shaoxing) and Tianzhuo Textile
The Centre for Microsystems Technology (CMST) of the University of Ghent – IMEC, will also present its research at the trade show.
