The contest, which is inspired by the BBC’s Dragon’s Den, pits packaging inventors against a panel of packaging experts drawn from major brands and retailers. It takes place at the Packaging Innovations show today at 2pm in the International Brand Summit.
EasyPack (stand D18) is entering the competition with PackMate, a compact, online, paper cushioning system.
The second company stepping into the ring is Ceisa Packaging (stand E28) with Full’Wrap. This is a special shrink film formulated for multipack applications and used exclusively with the KHS FullyEnclosed FilmPack.
Teamplast BV (stand J59), in collaboration with its client Bark Innovations, has developed The Bark Dosing System. Designed to provide exact dosage to the millilitre, thus ensuring no waste, the special mechanism in the dispensing chamber, allows a concentrated dosage to sit isolated from the rest of the contents, but can be mixed when poured.
Previous winners of the popular contestants have included Polythene UK, Spooncup and Chesapeake.
The winning company will be awarded with the Lions’ Lair accolade; the results will be announced at the show once all the votes have been counted.
