French appliances producer Groupe SEB has selected Eastman Tritan copolyester for the container of its new multi-delices yogurt maker.
Groupe SEB project manager Patrick Charles said the company selected Tritan as it will not crack or become hazy in the dishwasher.
"By following the specifications provided by Eastman, the production process is especially straightforward. We've had excellent technical support from the company throughout the injection molding and verification processes," Charles added.
According to Eastman, the 3-in-1 yogurt maker has a 1.5l capacity with 12 glass jars and lids and strainers for each.
Since its launch in 2007, the Tritan copolyester has been used to make more than 600 food contact products. The products range from serving and storing items to reusable sports bottles, baby bottles and small appliances.
Bisphenol A (BPA)-free Tritan copolyester is said to provide toughness, dishwasher durability as well as clarity.
