Stop&Shop Is Voluntarily Recalling Daniella Mangos Followind a Recall by Splendid Products

Stop&Shop,a US-based supermarket chain,is voluntarily recalling Daniella mangos followind a recall by Splendid Products due to possible salmonella contamination.

The mangoes were sold individually with a label bearing the code PLU#4959 at retail stores in Alberta,British Columbia,Saskatchewan,Manitoba,Northwest Territories,Nunavut and Yukon between 12 July and 24 August 2012.

Stop&Shop has advised consumers to discard any unused portions and return them to Stop&Shop for a full refund.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled.Consumption of food contaminated with this bacterium may cause salmonellosis,a foodborne illness.In young children,the elderly and people with weakened immune systems,salmonellosis may result in serious and sometimes deadly infections.
