HB Fuller Has Announced The Closure of Six Manufacturing Facilities

Global adhesives provider HB Fuller has announced the closure of six manufacturing facilities across the North America Adhesives business segment by mid-2013 as part of its integration of the recently acquired industrial adhesives business of Forbo Group.

HB Fuller said decisions were based on a review of the company's combined operations and will support its strategic growth objectives. The company is continuing its integration assessment work in the Europe, India Middle East and Africa (EIMEA) and Asia Pacific regions and will announce any changes to the organizational structures, upon completion of the analysis in the coming months.

The facilities set for closure include Pointe-Claire, Quebec; Morris, Illinois; Kansas City; Eugene, Oregon; Jackson, Tennessee; and Dallas, Texas and the closures will be staggered over the next 15 months.

The company plans to consolidate its adhesives business segment operations within its remaining US facilities in locations including California, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas and Washington.

HB Fuller vice president of Americas Adhesives Traci Jensen commenting on the move said: "The actions we are taking to remove duplication will make H.B. Fuller a more efficient company that is able to better serve our customers and well positioned to achieve our strategic growth goals."
