In Korea, P-Xylene prices declined due to weak support from the downstream buyers in the week ending March 2, 2013.
Prices opened at US$ 1675/ton FOB Korea lower by US$ 25/ton, as compared to the same period of its previous week. P-Xylene prices were spotted in the range of US$ 1635-1675/ton FOB Korea during the week.
In S.E. Asia, P-Xylene prices showed similar trend as Korea due to sluggish downstream support. In the initial days of the last week, prices were at US$ 1700/ton lower by US$ 25/ton, as compared to the same period of its previous week. Prices hovered in the range of US$ 1660-1700/ton CFR S.E. Asia.
In Europe, P-Xylene prices showed similar trend as Asia. Overall, market sentiment was insipid in the region amid poor downstream demand trends in the region. In the initial days of the reporting week, prices were assessed at US$ 1560/ton lower by US$ 25/ton, as compared to the same period of its previous week. P-Xylene prices were assessed during the week at US$ 1540-1560/ton FOB Rotterdam.
In US, P-Xylene prices showed similar trend as Europe. In the initial days of the week, prices were assessed at US$ 1620/ton, lower by US$ 20/ton as compared to its previous week.
