France’s Global Closure Systems (GCS) has launched a new high quality security standard closure for the spirits market called Tiva 2.
Launched by UCP, one of GCS's plants in the UK, the non-refillable closure has a tamper evidence ring that breaks off due to forced removal which is immediately visible to consumers.
UCP's patented Flange design helps in reducing cost by using a lightweight method to transport the fitment inside the cap during transit until it reaches the capping head. It has also been used to enhance the sealing capabilities of the closure.
The flange comes with the Tiva 2 valve in the shell. The seal is created on the glass after application which creates a seamless changeover between Tiva 2 and a standard aluminium closure.
The closure also uses the same controlled bore specification used in the current Tiva products, GF908 glass finishes, one of the most common industry standards.
With speeds of up to 600 bpm, the closure can be applied to a huge range of bottle types.
GCS has recently invested in the Tiva 2 production line that has been designed to use a complex high speed camera validation and alignment system for maximum precision and repeatability.
The new closures meet the demands of bartenders who prefer a sub 75 second time for emptying a 70cl bottle of spirits. It also comes with a non-drip feature that ensures a firm grip over alcohol.
