The US’s import licenses for stainless products totaled 79,994 tons in June, decreasing by 27.23% from 109,930 tons in May, according to data released by the US Department of Commerce's (DOC) Import Administration.
In June, the permits for blooms, billets and slabs category totaled 15,326 tons, falling sharply by 49.03% from a month ago.
Meanwhile, the import licenses for hot rolled (HR) stainless sheets slumped to 1,579 tons decreasing by 3,555 tons; those for coiled plates totaled 1,323 tons, falling by 3,538 tons and those for cold rolled sheets were at 21,633 tons, down by 3,133 tons, all compared to the figures in May.
