The Gathering Was Addressed by Senior Officials Mr USR Raju

The Corporate Social Responsibility and Health Safety and Environment teams of ESSAR Steel Complex at Paradeep in jagatsinghpur district jointly organized National Energy Conservation Day which is observed nationally on 14th December each year.

The program on National Energy Conservation Day started with an oath taking ceremony where employees of ESSAR Steel pledged to use available energy efficiently and avoid excessive or wasteful use of energy. The gathering was addressed by Senior Officials Mr USR Raju and Mr MK Thakur who highlighted the need for conserving energy and also shared tips on saving energy in everyday activities both at work and other places. A strong contingent of officials, employees and workers then took out a rally to the various offices located inside the Paradeep ESSAR Steel Complex, raising slogans which highlighted ways and means to adopt energy conservation practices.

Another highlight of the program was a quiz contest. 19 employees participated in the quiz competition which was conceptualized and conducted by head HSE Mr Kiran Panda; The questions refreshed memories on various concepts and facts related to energy conservation. The top 3 scorers of the competition were awarded with exciting gifts. The day ended with screening of a short movie entitled More for Less, that showcased success stories and best practices on energy conservation from around the world.
