With the advancement of science and increasing competition in the field of thermal wear, several companies have come up with new technologies in thermal insulation for apparels.
Thermore, one of the global leaders in the research, production and marketing of thermal insulation for apparel and sleeping bags, recently launched Thermore ARIA which is 98 percent air by volume, ultra light, soft and a super efficient high-loft insulator.
“Thermore ARIA perfectly mimics the look of down when quilted with appropriately matched fabrics to the three selected weights of fills; 60,115 and 170 gsm,” said the press office of Thermore to fibre2fashion.
Similarly, Nylstar, one of the leading providers of Polyamide 6.6 filaments and yarns, developed Meryl Nexten Plus – a hollow fibre with inherent silver particles that inhibit bacterial growth, last week.
According to a statement by the company, with 30 percent rate of thermal insulation, Meryl Nexten produces +3°C temperature perception and these characteristics makes it the ideal fibre for protecting winter garments or for light and comfortable thermal innerwear and hosiery.
Alfonso Cirera, CEO of Nylstar, said, “Lightweight has become an important focus in thermal wear ever since textile manufacturers have demanded lighter fabrics across woven, warp and weft knits, base layer as well as outerwear.”
“On one side this is the era of information technology, the faster eats the slower, so being able to provide innovative solutions and delivering them to the market with a very fast turnaround is the key to success. On the other side, providing innovative solutions based on responsible processes and material is the key to reach the new value for consumers,” concludes the press office of Thermore.
