Rush Group and Faurecia have collaborated to form Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS), which will manufacture and assemble automotive interior components in Detroit, US.
DMS will also provide cockpit interiors for the Ford Mustang and Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator.
The new company, which is still in the process of certification, is expected to employ about 500 people in during the next three years.
Ford Global Purchasing group vice president Tony Brown said, "This announcement marks a major development in our journey todevelop a financially healthy, diverse supply base."
The formation of DMS was also supported by the Michigan Economic Development which decreased the state tax based on job creation, while Detroit Economic Growth has supported in site evaluation and selection.
