Representatives from Peru’s Gamarra commercial garment market will present their collection at the ‘Trade Mission Gamarra Fashion Show in USA 2013’, organized by a Peruvian magazine ‘BIZ!’, and at the ‘Gamarra Fashion Night’ at Times Square, New York City, on June 8, 2013.
The textile entrepreneurs from Gamarra market, located in the Gamarra district of the capital city Lima, will present traditional designs from the country, which will be sported by famous models during the event.
The event is a part of Peru’s work plan to position itself in the US garment and apparel market as a strategic partner, according to andina report.
Through this event, the Peruvian garment market plan to gain from strategic marketing alliances with top apparel entrepreneurs of the US.
Peru’s Minister of Production, Gladys Triveño said the event is a part of the multi-sector strategy ‘Me Pongo Gamarra’ and aims to identify the level of innovation and talent among the Peruvian garment entrepreneurs.
Ms. Triveño encouraged the local garment entrepreneurs from Gamarra to participate in the event and showcase menswear, womenswear, fashion garments and casual sportswear.
The event is supported by Peru’s National Industrial Training Service (Senati), and the committee for Textiles and Apparel of the National Society of Industries (SNI).
More than 1,000 entrepreneurs of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) from the Gamarra market are expected to participate in the event.
