SSI's Patented Portable Vehicle Barrier Now Being Purchased by Public Safety and Stadiums,

SSI's patented Portable Vehicle Barrier (PVB), the solution for a quick deploying crash barrier, now being purchased by public safety and stadiums, police departments and even the US NAVY has been independently tested by NCS4 at the University of Southern Mississippi where it was put through its paces at a real sporting event by the University Police Department.

You can read the attached report here. The independent 3rd party evaluation helps Stadiums and other large venues make their decisions.

"The PVB allows for quick response to areas of need with respect to traffic and potential threats. I was impressed with how easy it was to assemble, and I especially like the wheels on this unit. They allow us to easily move the unit after it's been assembled," stated Bob Hopkins, Chief of Police, University of Southern Mississippi.

"Portability was a big factor in our decision to use the PVB's. Ease of movement and the ability to rapidly change configurations to match various roadway widths is a great feature. We also found them to be easy to set up and take down," said Richard Mormon, Deputy Chief of Police.

Indeed the Portable Vehicle Barrier is a VBIED (Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Device) killer that literally takes the vehicles forward movement and uses it against the vehicle levering the vehicle into the air. Made in the USA, the PVB requires no electricity and no maintenance. This makes it must-have for agencies entrusted with protecting large gatherings such as the Super Bowl, world Cup and the Olympics that will take place in the near future. When Arlington had the responsibility for hosting the Super Bowl this, they purchased the PVB for additional peace of mind.

Recently, at a Miami Heat game, a car lost its breaks and careened out of control down a ramp. Luckily the driver was able to avoid hitting people. It might have been a disaster. The PVB makes sure the road will be closed therefore protecting fans, people walking or buildings that might be targets.

Security Solutions International, a company well known for having trained more than 1,000 US federal, state and local agencies manufactured the barrier to provide local agencies with a device that could help secure perimeters at venues, buildings and infrastructure. The company has been surprised by the success of the product and is considering further product development.
