Nokia is to release its own tablet computer running Windows RT in September, according to sources in China, where it will be made.
The device will feature a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and will include support for 4G wireless networking, as well as Wi-fi.

According to images published by Chinese website Digiwo, the Nokia tablet will have a large 10-inch display and be available in a variety of bright colours - like the Nokia's Lumia range of smartphones.
It would also feature a cover and kick-stand, which would double-up as a screencover, in a similar fashion to the Microsoft Surface RT.
However, while Nokia is continuing to produce Windows-based devices, the is no compatibility between Windows RT, which was designed purely to run on ARM-based tablets, and Windows Phone 8, which was designed to power on ARM-based smartphones.
Furthermore, the Windows RT-based Microsoft Surface device, launch in autumn last year, proved to be a flop, while a string of planned Windows RT devices from a number of hardware makers never emerged.
It is unclear, therefore, why Nokia opted for Windows RT to run its tablet computer - other than its close relationship with Microsoft.
The launch, according to reports, will be on 26 September.
