Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending September 26 the US rig count remained level at 1,931, following a similar neutral trend the week before. The gas rig count increased by nine to 338, whereas the oil rig count decreased by nine to 1,592. The overall rig count is still up by 187 from 1,744 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 52 in the week ending September 26 to reach 429 following a 28-rig decrease the previous week. The Canadian rig count is now up 39 from 390 rigs during the same week a year ago.
