SMS Concast Announces That It Has Received an Order From The Indian Steelmaker Bmm Ispat

Switzerland based SMS Concast has announced that it has received an order from the Indian steelmaker BMM Ispat for the delivery of a combined-caster.
 
With the new caster, BMM Ispat will be able to produce 1.1 million mt of billets and rounds per year. The combined-caster is scheduled to be commissioned in November 2013.
 
In the first phase of BMM Ispat's expansion plan, SMS Concast will supply a high-speed combined-caster which is fully equipped to cast challenging steel grades like spring steel, free-cutting steel, bearing steel, pipe grades, and micro-alloyed and structural steels.
 
Under the scope of its expansion project, the company plans to increase its annual steel manufacturing capacity to about 2 million mt in two phases. With the capacity expansion, BMM Ispat will become the second largest steel producer in the state of Karnataka, India.
