Scott Sports hired industry veteran Zack Vestal as its bike marketing manager in the USA. Vestal joins the staff at Scott Sports after recently departing Mavic, Inc, where he spent almost four years as the communications mnager.
“Zach’s industry relationships and knowledge make him the perfect fit for the bike marketing position at Scott,” said US Marketing Director Nic Sims. “His attention to detail, tech experience and media contacts are a perfect fit for continuing our push of the Scott brand,” continued Sims.
Prior to his time with Mavic, Vestal was the Technical Editor at VeloNews magazine for two years. He also spent time as the mechanic and later the manager of the Trek-VW mountain bike racing team, from 2004 until 2008.
Sims joined Scott Sports in September 2013 as the Bike Marketing Manager. In March, he was promoted to US Marketing Director, where he currently oversees the marketing efforts across the bike, moto, wintersports, and running categories. Supplementing Sims’s team as the Bike Marketing Manager, Vestal will develop the Scott brand communication plan for the USA, including advertising, PR, athlete sponsorships, and events.
“There’s no question the bike category is our biggest and most visible,” said Sims. “Our sales team and dealer network are already benefitting from our efforts, and we expect Zack to keep the momentum going,” Sims concluded.
Vestal joined the team at Scott Sports effective Monday, August 11. He will be based in Golden, Colorado, with monthly visits to the Scott office in Salt Lake City.
