A New Factory-Installed Roof Fairing for The Cascadia and Cascadia Evolution

Freightliner today announced the availability of a new factory-installed roof fairing for the Cascadia and Cascadia Evolution, as well as the start of production of the 122SD vocational truck.

The new roof fairing is standard on the Cascadia Evolution 72-inch mid-roof XT models and is an option on the Cascadia 72-inch mid-roof XT. It is available with 12- or 20inch side extenders and contributes to greater aerodynamics.

"We are always looking for new ways to enhance fuel economy through innovative design," said Mary Aufdemberg, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. "The new roof fairing is just the latest example of the smart engineering behind every Freightliner truck."

The company also announced it has started full production of its 122SD vocational truck. Freightliner describes the 122SD as the flagship of its severe-duty vocational truck line, with a GVWR of up to 92,000 lbs and a GCWR of up to 160,000 lbs. It's intended for heavy-haul, logging, oil and gas, crane, dump, towing/recovery and other vocational on-highway applications.

It can be had with the Detroit DD15, DD13 or DD16 engines, as well as the Cummins ISX with up to 600 hp and 2,050 lb.-ft. of torque.

"The 122SD is the most powerful vocational truck we have in our line-up," said Aufdemberg. "Every inch of the 122SD is geared to give our customers extreme performance combined with efficiency and reliability for the lowest total cost of ownership."
