List of American Image Awards Honorees Is Announced by AAFA

The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) announced the slate of honorees to be recognized during the 35th Annual AAFA American Image Awards to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Set to be held on May 16, 2013, aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York, NY, the 35th Annual AAFA American Image Awards recognizes outstanding achievements within the U.S. apparel and footwear industry.

Honorees for the 35th Annual AAFA American Image Awards are: Wes Card, CEO of The Jones Group, Inc., as Man of the Year; Saks Incorporated as Retailer of the Year, to be accepted by CEO Steve Sadove and CMO and President Ron Frasch; New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc., as Brand of the Year, to be accepted by New Balance President and CEO Rob DeMartini; and Rebecca Minkoff as Designer of the Year, to be accepted by namesake designer Rebecca Minkoff.

"The honorees of the 35th Annual AAFA American Image Awards represent the exemplary leadership that is required to drive our industry forward," said AAFA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. "Because of their innovative approaches to business and style this past year, AAFA is please to award the 2013 honorees with the much-coveted American Image Award as we raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project."

Forty percent of the event’s net proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Over the past ten years, AAFA has donated several million dollars to benefit various charity partners including Autism Speaks, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club, among others.
